World Embrace

World Embrace, along with its partners, is building what will be one of East Africa’s premier parks for children and youth. Phase one will open in 2022. Gulu is the second-largest city in Uganda with one of the youngest populations on earth. Gulu Community Park will be the social hub of the city and a gospel/discipleship center. Visitors will encounter 15 acres of fun, interactive games, inspiration, sports, ministry, and education. Most importantly, children, youth, and their families will encounter Jesus.

Our History

World Embrace was established in 2007 with a focus on events, programs, and encounters that would encourage healing and unity in the church. The founders, Reynold and Kathy Mainse, moved to Uganda in 2015 after visiting Uganda several years earlier. World Embrace has a focus on Unity within the body of Christ. World Embrace along with Ugandan Christian leaders from a variety of churches and ministries have embarked upon creating the social hub of the City so that the masses to encounter Jesus.

What We Do

World Embrace is a faith-based charitable organization based in Gulu, Uganda, that is pursuing regional transformation through creating the social hub of the city. World Embrace, along with it’s partners, are building what will be one of East Africa’s premier parks for children and youth.

Gulu Community Park is 15-acres and will enrich the lives of potentially 150,000 children who have not had the opportunity to play in a public, clean, safe, and supervised playground. The children’s park will be five acres of fun, interactive games, inspiration and education. The many youth will enjoy 10 acres of sports, games and entertainment facilities.

Most importantly, children, youth and their families will encounter Jesus and have opportunities to be mentored and discipled by our trained staff of excellent character. As a result of war and poor medical care, Northern Uganda has one of the youngest populations in the world.

The few public recreational facilities in Gulu do not have the capacity to serve the community. These are also not maintained and therefore dangerous. The youth of the city don’t have opportunities to play, learn and be trained in safe well-equipped facilities. Gulu Community Park will positively impact the lives of thousands of children and youth weekly in Uganda’s largest community recreational park.
