At Group Mission Trips, our staff are the backbone of our ministry. They make our mission of creating experiences where people encounter Jesus come alive. Each year, our team consists of about 100 Summer Staff, 150 Leaders, and nearly 600 volunteers! They come from around the country to organize the details and logistics of our mission trips. And the best part… they do it all while wearing smiles and red staff t-shirts. The “Red Shirt” has become iconic and carries with it the weight of expectation, joy, and relationship. When you put on your Red Shirt, you’re not just abiding by a dress code, you’re stepping into a family and an unmatched legacy of service.

At each Workcamp, there’s a complex puzzle and it’s the job of our crew managers to put it together! Using a database management program to put the entire Workcamp into crews of 6 participants is only half of it. The crew manager also coordinates the transportation logistics for work crews and oversees work site progress. Aside from that, the crew manager supports the kitchen staff to provide excellent meals to camp participants. The crew manager is constantly using problem solving skills to make the Workcamp smooth and efficient!

The crew manager oversees work crew logistics, supports the kitchen staff, and supports the Red Shirt Team with leadership, encouragement, and a servant’s heart.
