Skills
The most important criterion is that the next Superintendent is a committed Christian, a practitioner of the faith who will unhesitatingly and deeply commit to Rosslyn’s mission and to the school’s Core Beliefs and Core Values. • The next Superintendent must be “orthodox in beliefs yet open to diverse views,” and personally, “a humble, winsome and joyful Christian.” • Must be the educational leader of the school, inspiring teachers, and staff to help students reach their highest potential, while assessing whether the program is developmentally appropriate and that it provides preparation for tertiary education and life skills beyond, never losing sight of students’ best interests. • Must be fully cognizant of current educational trends, such as how students learn best and what pedagogical strategies result in the greatest student growth. • The school has a distributed leadership structure which is working well, and the next Superintendent will want to engage with, but not micro-manage, the administrators, especially in the staff performance assessment process. The next Superintendent must have previous success attracting and supporting top teaching talent.
