As your team arrives in Vienna, they will be surrounded by land steeped in our country’s history—whether it is the short one-hour trip to visit Washington, D.C., or the quick drives to the historic Civil War battlefields. Despite the town’s historically rich past, homelessness is a real problem today. Many people face challenges associated with threats of severe temperature and the reality of hunger. Local programs depend on Week of Hope volunteers each summer to operate—so perhaps this is where YOU can have the greatest impact this summer! Your group can be the hands and feet—and heartbeat—of Jesus to the people of Vienna, Virginia. While your team members are serving and blessing others, they’ll be changed in amazing ways at the same time. Here is an example of the great reports we hear from residents after a Week of Hope: “It all started with a prayer for help around our home. My husband and I are having some aging and health problems, and it is harder to complete all our work.… This program is such a blessing, and we are on the receiving end of this. Through the Week of Hope we have gained more children and grandchildren—this truly was the highlight of our summer. We were blessed, and I mean this with all of my heart.” Thanks for considering serving Vienna this summer!
