Where
Volunteers stay at the SmileFaith Mission House in Jenkins, KY, a fully furnished house that sleeps teams up to twelve where meals are provided. The Mobile Bus takes volunteers to host sites throughout Southeastern Kentucky including but not limited to Harlan, Letcher, Breathitt, McCreary, Floyd, and Pike Counties.
When
Trips are scheduled according to the teams’ availability and SmileFaith’s calendar of events. Mission Events may last for a week, or be for just a weekend. Our updated website should have events already scheduled displayed so teams can better determine dates of service according to their convenience.
Skills
Skills needed for this trip include FLEXIBILITY, good attitude, willingness to share the Gospel, licensed dentists, licensed hygiensts, and licesned assistants willing to work primarily with adults.
What We Will Do
When you fill out the volunteer service packet, we go through the necessary steps to have Kentucky issue temporary licensing in this state for you with our Clinic. We provide tax receipts for any supplies donated by the team as well as tax receipts for transportation arranged through SmileFaith Foundation (i.e. air fare or car rental). We also provide tax receipts for the food and lodging at the Mission House which is a suggested donation of $75/day/person which includes prepared meals, dinnerware, bedding, towels, wash cloths, and the hostess to clean up after the team has served. Additionally, we provide a driver and transportation to and from event host sites. If you do not have an accompanying evangelist to share the Gospel during your scheduled event, one will be provided for you. We also provide patient information folders with necessary health questionnaires, etc…
