The Fuller Center for Housing is a non-profit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry dedicated to eliminating poverty housing worldwide. The Fuller Center works through local partnerships that are formed with communities all over the world, including Lampang, Thailand! Many families live in very basic and inadequate structures made of Teak wood, but desire a more adequate and modern house.
Thailand prides itself as a welcoming place for tourists to visit, and it is such a major part of the Thai economy that many areas have become very touristy. Lampang, the small city where we are working, holds the original sense of Thailand without the drawbacks that tourist centers frequently bring.
The Fuller Center for Housing Mission Trip to Thailand lasts one to two weeks and groups can choose what dates work best for them. We are able to host teams all year round. If you are an individual looking to join a trip that is already set-up you can visit our upcoming trips page to see our open trips.
The Fuller Center for Housing welcomes volunteers ages 14+ and of all skill levels. Foreign-language skills are not necessary. We accept all who have a willingness to serve!
What We Will Do
We will be building mostly new homes throughout the Lampang area. The homes will be built with block and will typically be around 500 square feet. Work will typically involve helping the masons and carpenters. This work involves laying block, mixing/carrying cement and mortar, digging the foundation, moving materials, and digging latrines.
