Group Workcamp Prince George, Virginia

Named for Prince George of Denmark, Prince George County is located 30 miles south of Richmond, the capital of Virginia. 400 years of history surround Prince George and its close sister, Hopewell. The area where the James and Appomattox Rivers meet before their slow journey to the Atlantic, is steeped with early colonial progress. Riverside former plantations dot the area of early settlement when tobacco was like gold.

Historic churches show the important role of faith in our country’s development and still stand as cultural centers of the region. The residents of Prince George are eager to show off their town and tell you about the way history has made them who they are and how you can be a part of their story.

Many homes in rural areas need your help, and the residents are excited to share their lives with you. Neighborhoods are tightly knit and can be helped by our willingness to spend time improving their community.
