International Mission Trip to Costa Rica

In Merced, located in northern San José, a community center is dedicated to helping citizens who have been forgotten and underserved grow physically, mentally, and spiritually. Backed by the local church, community and business leaders, this group of Christians are living out their faith by investing time identifying and equipping people who are involved in prostitution and homelessness; they also reach out to children and troubled youth. They provide courses and programs that help people rise above their circumstances such as: computer skills, GED, leadership development, among many others.

Many local people are currently involved with projects in their very own community. To date, the center has helped 200 families (1,500 people) in a variety of ways.

What We Will Do

Here are some ways your group may serve in Merced: -Working on different renovation efforts at one of the poorest neighborhoods in the area, helping widows, single moms, the elderly and disabled. -Assisting with other ministry opportunities provided by the local school and community center.

Our local ministry partner started working in September of 2014. The community center is run by 10 people, mostly young people with backgrounds in psychology, business administration, college students, and graphic designers who give their time and abilities to the center.
