Vietnam Medical Mission April 13-30, 2019

Vets With A Mission invites both non-medical/health and medical-health volunteers to travel to Thua Thien Hue Province in Central Vietnam. Vietnam veterans are especially welcomed! Team will offer primary healthcare examinations in Nam Dong District, 35 kilometers west of Hue City, in a rural mountainous area. There are roles on the team for vets and non-medical personnel to serve just like medical-health professionals!

Where

Thua Thien Hue Province, central Vietnam. Team will serve in A Luoi, near the border with Laos and in Hong Ha, a village 45 kilometers west of Hue. Team will fly into Da Nang and depart from same to return to the US. Team departure is from Atlanta GA, or if situated on the west coast, departures from Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO) or Seattle (SEA). All team members met in Seoul (ICN), South Korea, and travel together into Vietnam.

When

March 1 – 18, 2018. Includes 7 clinic days in Vietnam.

Skills

All medical-health specialties needed especially nurses, physicians, dentists, Ophthalmologist/Optometrist, PA’s and NP’s, pharmacist, physical therapists, etc. Non-medical/health volunteers needed to serve in pharmacy, patient services, security, and other areas.

What We Will Do

Vietnamese are invited to clinic by local authorities. VWAM provides charity health examinations to identify “Special patients,” that is, those with serious health issues. Treatment may necessitate life-changing/saving procedures, such as a heart operation or other major surgery, that will be sponsored by VWAM. Patients register, proceed through triage and patient examination, continue onto dental, eye or physical therapy, etc., and process out after a visit to the pharmacy. Typical day is up at 5:30, 6:00 breakfast, 7:00 meeting/briefing/devotion. Ground transport by vans. Return to hotel 5-6:00 p.m.
