Skills
Medical training is required if you would like to serve in an official medical capacity alongside our local staff. If you would still like to learn about medicine in Uganda, but do not have training, you can serve in our clinic in ways that you can observe and learn.
What We Will Do
Each trip will include a 2-day medical outreach. The capacity in which you can serve alongside our team depends on what your desire and medical training is. Those without medical training will help our staff check in patients, take weights and temps, fulfill prescriptions, pray over patients, etc. Those with medical training will have the opportunity to take blood pressure, various labs and tests, join our doctors as they diagnose, etc. You will also have the opportunity to join a variety of other ministry outreaches during the week.
Some outreaches may include: – Home visits to children and families in our sponsorship program – Elderly visits (loving on them with quality time and service around their home/land) – Community service projects to homes in the villages (helping families clean around the home, small building projects, handing out mosquito nets) – Agriculture outreaches (join community trainings in Farming God’s Way practices and participate in planting/digging)
Visit local markets, a prison, and local churches to share the gospel and pray over people – Lead fun games and bible lessons at primary schools, our weekly Hot Lunch program, and our weekly “Say No To Hunger” sponsorship program – Connect with the youth through teaching bible studies and life skills at high schools and our weekly “Ignite” youth program – Potentially lead VBS and youth events at the Dream Center (our youth center) – Help tutor small groups of children during our Bridge tutoring program – Support medical staff and pray over patients at our medical clinic and birthing center – Be a part of clean water well commissioning’s
