Pimentel, Dominican Republic | Group Mission Trips

The Dominican Republic shares the island of Hispaniola with Haiti and is home to about 9 million people. While the Dominican Republic boasts a stronger economy than their island neighbor, there are still thousands of Dominicans who do not have access to clean water or education. While Christianity has a strong presence on the island, there is a real struggle with actively living out the faith, and this can sometimes be compounded by the lack of resources and education. The most fruitful and effective ministries in the DR are holistic, those that combine evangelism with education and development. The vision of our ministry partner in Pimentel is to transform a city through the Gospel message, by developing leaders starting when they are kids, knowing that they are the key of transforming a generation. They are also actively transforming the community by implementing solutions to community challenges, i.e. the lack of clean water, food shortages / sustainability, limited access to primary healthcare, and the absence of technical and vocational job training for the poor and marginalized in Pimentel, Dominican Republic. When you serve with Group Mission Trips International in Pimentel, DR you will have the chance to minister alongside a group of people who are laboring to provide each Dominican national the opportunity to rise above the circumstances they have been born into on the island. This global experience will expand your understanding of the complexity of poverty but more importantly grow your faith as you equip Dominicans to impact their culture for the gospel.

Taking a Group International Mission Trip lets you see the world through God’s eyes. You’ll gain a fresh perspective about the work God does in local communities throughout the world and that new view will make you more aware of the different cultures and misperceptions about where you’re serving. With a deeper insight, you’ll return home transformed. Plus, you’ll grow closer to Jesus through acts of service and get to know him more deeply. We’ve partnered with long-term ministries that are rooted in the countries we serve. As you’re reading this, they are passionately serving and loving their neighbors, working to meet physical and spiritual needs in Jesus’ name. When we arrive, we come alongside their efforts for long-lasting impact. Types of work vary based on location, no special skills are needed!
