Retreat Center for Missionaries needing a break
He Restoreth Ministries is working to provide a place of healing and rest for these weary and wounded missionaries. God has provided a beautiful apartment and property where these missionaries can stay. God has equipped Brent and Ruth Ullom to minister to hurting missionaries. Brent is a trained counselor, and Ruth is gifted in hospitality. They both grew up on the mission field; and as missionaries, they raised their four children in Ecuador for 6 years. They have also suffered various traumas on the mission field (e.g., they lost a newborn).
We are here for missionaries needing a break. We strive to minister to the whole family at one of the most beautiful spots on earth. 114 acres with forest, fields, pond, and two creeks. Internet counseling and in-person counseling available, specializing in marriage and family, cross-cultural, and crisis. For singles and families.
Our vision and heart’s desire is to minister to you as effectively as possible. We are both missionary kids, and we also lived with our children for six years as missionaries in Ecuador. We understand the hectic stress of furlough and the traumas the mission field can involve. We feel you should take some time to rest during your time in the U.S. We would love to provide a time of rest for you and your family.
We will send a questionnaire to you to see how we can best meet your needs.
New missionaries: Contact us about a pre-field retreat!
Have you gone through a crisis? We have a special heart for those who have been through a crisis. Let us know about it. Maybe we can help.
You might be wondering how much will this cost.
Food: We ask you to pay only the actual cost of your food. We can purchase your food (we are located almost a half hour from a large store). We will work this out in the questionnaire you will fill out when you schedule your stay.
Heating: If you come during cooler weather, you will also pay for heating pellets.
Donation: We are doing this as a ministry, but at this point we are far from completely funded. Because of this, we have a suggested donation of $30 a night for an individual or $50 for a family, and $30 an hour for in-depth counseling. If you can not afford the suggested donation, please let us know–we want you to come anyway. Also, at times there are scholarships available for missionaries.
