Short-Term Mission Trips to Honduras

Mission Encounters International (MEI) is a gospel-driven, charitable organization with a heart devoted to missions. Our primary serving mission is located on the island of Helene, Honduras. Helene is one of the Bay Islands off the Honduras northern coast in the Caribbean Sea. We host short-term teams, offer Discipleship Encounters program (initial mission field training), mission field team opportunities and more.

Where

Helene, Honduras (called Santa Elena by the predominantly Spanish-speaking Honduran government) is a small English-speaking island, about four miles long and one mile wide, located 30 miles off the northern coast of mainland Honduras. It is separated from its nearest neighbor, Roatan, the largest of the Bay Islands, by only a narrow canal, but twelve miles of ocean, dense jungles, and mangrove swamps isolate Helene from the rest of civilization.

When

MEI Short-Term Mission trips are available March to October, each year. They are centered around a biblically based approach to poverty alleviation. You learn how you can walk with people who struggle with poverty in ways that lead to lasting change. The devotional teachings and outreach events center around the text – Helping Without Hurting in Short-Term Missions.
