Tapachula, Mexico Mission Trip

Walking On Water is a Christian non-profit organization dedicated to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with this generation’s global surfing community since 1995. Professional surfer Bryan Jennings started Walking on Water with the vision of using his surfing abilities to share his faith with young people. His idea was to hold an overnight surf camp for junior high and high school students where he would not only teach students how to surf, but also focus on sharing his Christian faith. What started as a small camp of ten students has now grown into a worldwide ministry that reaches thousands of people through films, outreach events, surf camps, and international mission trips. Though the ministry started with surf camps, Walking On Water is best known for its surf films. When Walking On Water created its first film, Follow the Leader, only a few hundred people screened it. The next fourteen years produced Ten more movies that have been seen by over 500,000 people in live attendance.

What We Will Do

We will be working directly with the Misión Mexico children’s refuge and their surf center Misión Surf. The opportunity to share the gospel with the kids comes through teaching them surfing, swimming, and life saving techniques. Not only are these things a blessing to the kids and the community, but they also allow for us to make friends and build trust, and we have a great time doing it!
