TeachBeyond is a mission that believes education is an effective catalyst bringing hope to individuals and positive transformation to societies. Working together with national hosts, TeachBeyond provides English language learning opportunities taught by native English speakers like you in summer camp settings. The national host—often a church—provides follow-up and discipleship. We see English Camps as part of a broader educational agenda that includes a spiritual and moral-ethical dimension.
TeachBeyond conducts more than a dozen short-term English Camps for youth each year in various countries. Click here to find out locations and to submit a volunteer application.
English Camps are held in July and August (and February in Brazil) and last seven to nine days. Click here for more information about dates.
As a native English speaker you have the primary skill needed to volunteer. You will find God using your unique gifts to make camp an exciting, spiritually rewarding experience for the students, and for yourself. Like any summer camp we have need of volunteers to do crafts, cooking, music and outdoor activities as well as English teaching.
What We Will Do
You will build relationships with youth as you converse with them in English and demonstrate the Fruit of the Spirit in daily life. We use typical camp experiences such as outdoor activities, crafts, skits, songs and more to create a fun environment for learning conversational English. The best part of each camp is the friendships you make. Many youth maintain contact with volunteers by email and social media – a great way to reinforce English and spiritual lessons.
