TeachBeyond is a mission that believes education is an effective catalyst bringing hope to individuals and positive transformation to societies. We follow our Lord Jesus Christ by engaging with the needs of this world—physical, relational, and spiritual. Teaching English overseas provides a tremendous opportunity to build relationships that have a transformational impact for the Kingdom.
TeachBeyond primarily serves the English instructional needs of national high schools in Europe and Eurasia, and we are expanding to other regions. We also provide instructors for universities and community English classes through our TeachESL program.
English language instructors are needed for one, two, or more years. Although the initial commitment is one year, we welcome longer terms of service since we realize the benefits of long-term investment in relationships. New TeachBeyond members must attend an orientation session in June.
You must be a native English speaker and have a Bachelor’s degree. You will need a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign or Second Language. If you do not have one, you can attend a 30-hour certification program at Wheaton College in June.
What We Will Do
Teaching English overseas via TeachESL provides a tremendous opportunity to build relationships with a transformational impact for the Kingdom. You will have a job teaching English at one of our partner schools or universities where you’ll have the opportunity to build relationships with your co-workers, students, and neighbors in locations where followers of Jesus are few and far between. You will be placed on a team with other teachers who share your vision for teaching English and building relationships. Most of our partner schools and universities provide housing and a stipend.
