Agape Volunteers In Mission

Our History

Agape Volunteers in Mission Program is a Christian C.B.O which started in May of 2000 but duly registered in 2023. The organization is located located in Mukuru Sinai [Jamaica], off Lunga Lunga Road, an urban poor settlement in Nairobi County’s Eastland Area. The programme benefits populations from such areas as Mukuru kwa Reuben, Mukuru Sinai, Donholm village, Quarry, Pipeline, Kwa Njenga and the surrounding urban shanty settlements. It’s population is estimated to be about 500,000.

As a young and growing slum ministry, Agape Volunteers in Mission is looking for a Church, church organisations, individual Christians or volunteers with a call to raise funds to reach the rural poor churches and communities i.e. orphans, vulnerable children, youths, widows, poor families and training to church leaders and Evangelism to the lost.

Our Mission

Rescue and capacity build the deprived, marginalized and hurting community by capacity building them hence giving them the opportunity to improve their lives by alleviating illiteracy level, rescuing abused and neglected children and proving them with affordable health care services.

Our Values

We are a Christian C.B.O dedicated to spreading the gospel to as many as we can reach. We’ve done that while also supporting orphans, widows, and schools. In this way, we hope to make a real difference in the lives of our community members as well as the lives of their children.

What We Do

Our vision as Agape Volunteers in mission is to be a leading institution that prevents and take the edge off human suffering by providing a holistic approach by working with the poor and the oppressed to promote human transformation, rescuing abused children, reducing illiteracy and promoting positive seeking health behaviors.

House building charitable program started in 2016 for 2 years but stopped because of lack of Funds that were given by well wishers. This program was addressing shortage of houses for child – headed families, widows and other vulnerable people. The condition of houses make poor people uncomfortable and sometimes the house are swept by floods due to heavy rains leading to water born diseases. Many poor people can’t construct comfortable or better houses due to high poverty index. Lack of house for them is a challenge to us therefore, through combined energy, and working together as a team, the AVM team is in prayers to get back on it’s dream of constructing houses for the widows and the poor in case God speaks to His servants touched to see this a reality.
Agape Volunteers in Mission has a children’s center with limited housing so we’re looking for support to acquire additional land to build a full educational center to accommodate the high demand. The primary focus of this educational center is to ensure that the children we rescue and those in the community have access to education.
The center is to administer the CBC syllabus and to have classes from play groups to grade 6. The organization also prays to implement a feeding program at the center as a strategy to keep the children in school.
The center’s staff has undergone basic training in guidance and counseling to better handle the children and help them cope with the prevailing challenging realities.
The children will also be provided with free learning materials, including textbooks and writing materials, and to have a computerized learning program, which will motivate the children in their learning.
The leadership program we have developed now is a dynamic and purpose-driven initiative aimed at training Church leaders and spreading the message of hope, love, and salvation through the teachings of Jesus Christ. Rooted in the church’s mission to reach hearts and transform lives, this ministry is designed to engage the community, foster spiritual growth, and inspire individuals to embrace a life of faith.
