Alabama Rural Ministry

Alabama Rural Ministry can partner with your student ministry to develop compassionate servant leaders who know what it means to be Made for More! Because mission is more than a project and more than a trip – mission is a lifestyle of service for followers of Christ. Come extend Christ’s love with us in rural AL through meaningful home repair and children’s day camp ministries!

Our History

Founded in 1998 by Lisa Pierce as a pilot mission project of the University of West Alabama Wesley Foundation to respond to substandard housing needs in rural west Alabama.

Our Mission

We are discovering, developing, and deploying spiritual leaders who, as disciples of Jesus Christ, minister with rural and under-resourced communities to make sustainable homes, strengthen families, and make strategic community partnerships for the glory of God.

Our Values

Christ-centered. Compassionate Servant Leadership. Intentional Community Partnerships. Creative and Thoughtful Stewardship.

What We Do

We develop servant leaders who extend Christ’s love through home repair and children’s day camp ministries and are empowered to continue serving back home. We host mission teams in rural Alabama throughout the year for week-long summer or spring break mission experiences or for weekend/long weekend mission experiences throughout the year.
