Children’s HopeChest

Children’s HopeChest exists to glorify God by releasing the potential of orphaned and vulnerable children and their communities through partnerships that cultivate holistic transformation and sustainability.

Our History

Children’s HopeChest (HopeChest) was founded in 1994 in response to the devastating need of orphans in Russia following the fall of the Iron Curtain. These children had serious basic needs for clothing, food, medical attention and facilities, but more compelling was their need for love, human interaction and care, and future hope. In response, HopeChest developed a holistic approach, which helps meet medical, physical, educational, emotional, and spiritual needs of orphaned children and youth, in fulfillment of our mission.

In late 2006, HopeChest leadership felt God calling them to expand our ministry to orphaned and vulnerable children. In 2007, after much prayer and deliberation, HopeChest partnered with Adventures in Missions and their indigenous staff to begin working in Swaziland. Due to the increasing awareness of the complex barriers faced by orphaned and vulnerable children in Africa, Children’s HopeChest launched ministry in Uganda and Ethiopia in 2009 with our own indigenous staff. Currently, HopeChest maintains our own NGO status in both Uganda and Ethiopia.

In 2010, further opportunities allowed for HopeChest to begin partnering with on-the-ground ministry partners in Haiti, Moldova, India, and Guatemala. Children’s HopeChest currently has active partnerships in Russia, Swaziland, Ethiopia, Uganda, Haiti, Guatemala, Moldova, India, and the United States.
