Our History
Native and Mission leaders wanted a Christian answer for reclaiming lives from alcohol addiction. A former Bible Institute in Cortez, CO provided an ideal setting for a Christ-centered Recovery Program. Since 1991 we have offered 90-day programs for transforming lives by God’s grace, reaching over 30 tribal groups.
Our Mission
We seek to reclaim Native believers for Christ and His church by offering a program of Christian recovery based upon Biblical principles for the healing, restoration and rebuilding of their life and character. We seek to produce disciples who can become faithful and productive in the body of Christ.
Our Values
Every broken life is important to God, and we value each individual and love them with Christ’s healing love. God’s Word is of first importance in bringing hope and restoration, and our entire program is based on teaching Biblical principles and Biblical counseling. Christ’s spiritual freedom comes only by trusting and obeying Him as a faithful disciple (John 8:31-32).
Christian Discipleship Center - What We Do
The Christian Discipleship Center offers three 90-day recovery programs each year for Native men and women. We take referrals from Native churches and mission leaders, as well as social, health and legal agencies. We work with professing believers and seek to disciple them through intensive Bible instruction and Biblical counseling classes and personal sessions. Our goal is to help each one have a full assurance of salvation and forgiveness, know their new identity in Christ, and be trained in rebuilding their character according to Biblical principles. Our well-rounded program also includes work therapy, support groups, computer use, church attendance and recreational activities in the Four Corners area. Our nutrition program and gym exercise room enables our enrollees to rebuild their physical health as well. Our staff are supported missionaries or volunteers with their own means of income. We still need Bible teachers and Biblical counselors, maintenance workers, cooks and other support personnel to join us. Housing is available on campus.
