Fire & Fragrance South Africa (FFSA) was established in Potchefstroom in 2019 by a pioneering team sent from Fire & Fragrance in Kona, Hawaii. Beginning with 24 team members, FFSA has grown into a community of approximately 180 full-time staff involved in discipleship, training, missions, and local ministry. Over the past six years, FFSA has seen more than 60,000 people come to salvation, trained over 2,000 participants through its programs, planted 10 house churches in South Africa, and established 183 discipleship groups across Africa.

What We Do

Fire & Fragrance South Africa (FFSA) is a Christian missions and discipleship organization committed to knowing Jesus deeply, making Him known, and seeing individuals and communities transformed by the Gospel. Our work is expressed through six core pillars.

Prayer and Worship: We give the First Commandment first place, believing that everything we do must be birthed from and sustained by intimacy with Jesus.

Evangelism: In response to Mark 16:15, we equip every believer to live as an ambassador and messenger of the Gospel through local ministry, international outreach, church planting, and disciple-making.

Training: In obedience to Matthew 28, we train and disciple people through missions, Bible, leadership, and biblical-worldview programs, preparing them to carry God’s truth into every sphere of society.

Media: Inspired by Habakkuk 2:2, we use media and creative communication to rewrite the narrative of South Africa, share testimonies of what God is doing, and call a generation into faith and purpose.

Ending Bible Poverty: We work to ensure that people can access, understand, and respond to Scripture through Bible translation, distribution, engagement, and training.

Mercy Ministries: We serve the practical and physical needs of the vulnerable and marginalized while pointing people toward the hope and restoration found in Jesus.

Through these pillars, FFSA develops worshipping and discipling communities, trains and sends missionaries, plants house churches, establishes discipleship groups, and serves communities throughout South Africa, across Africa, and internationally.
