Global Aid Network (GAiN) USA
The mission of GAiN Humanitarian Outreach is to resource and catalyze national spiritual movements by mobilizing the body of Christ by providing compassionate action in the tough places to relieve suffering and restore dignity.
Born from a humanitarian outreach of the Josh McDowell Ministry to the former Soviet Union, Global Aid Network (GAIN) was launched in September 2003. Under Josh McDowell’s leadership from the 1990s to 2003, this outreach, known as Operation Carelift, ministered to thousands of men, women, and children in the wake of the economic hardship left after the Soviet Union’s dissolution. Upon becoming a separate agency in 2003, GAIN joined networks with other like-minded offices. Today, autonomous GAIN resource offices are located in Canada, Germany, Holland, Korea, Australia, Austria and Spain.
Global Aid Network (GAIN) is a Christian humanitarian organization—a trusted partner of Cru—that expresses the love of Jesus Christ in the toughest places on earth by relieving suffering and restoring dignity. We seek to fulfill our calling by addressing the most basic physical needs of people: water, food, health, and compassion. As we obey this call of Christ, and remain prepared “to give the reason for the hope that we have” (1 Pet. 3:15), God creates marvelous opportunities to make disciples.
The church is called by God to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Scripture says that we will be known as His disciples by our love (John 13:35). Jesus said that the greatest commandment was to love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself. GAIN serves the world through humanitarian outreach because through this, we become better ambassadors of Christ. In this response by the people of God serving the world, the Great Commandment meets the Great Commission.
Global Aid Network (GAiN) USA - What We Do
GAIN humanitarian outreach mission trips partner with local ministries and churches in countries across the globe to serve those in need and share the love of Jesus Christ. Each of our trips focuses on one of our four programs: water, food, health, and care. You may help conduct an eyeglasses clinic Central Asia or a WaSH training in Guatemala. You may create a community garden in Zimbabwe or distribute Bibles to Middle Eastern Refugees. Our strategies help build visibility and lend credibility to local ministries, so they can more effectively serve and share the gospel in their communities.
