Harvest Children’s Home is the primary project of Cry Cameroon Ministries and was established to rescue and give a new family, a new hope and a new future to orphaned children whose parents were victims of AIDS, Malaria and other tragedies. The Children’s Home provides housing, education, health and nutritional care to the children as well as spiritual and biblical guidance. 98% of all the needs of the orphanage are met by funds raised in the US by Cry Cameroon Ministries [USA] www.crycameroon.org. This is possible because of a few praying and generous mission-minded Churches and a small dedicated family of Christian partners all over the US.
Today, through the ongoing efforts of Cry Cameroon Ministries [USA], it’s dedicated partners, and HCH’s staff members, Harvest Children’s Home is a real home to 60-70 (on average) orphans. Each year it moves more towards professionalism and excellence. Each year all the school age children are sent to local elementary and high schools and the younger ones, who are not of school age, are given day care type education. The children are supplied uniforms, school supplies, books, and all their tuitions. This is a major ongoing challenge, because there is no such thing as “free public education” in the area and no scholarships or grants are earmarked for orphans.
Since 2004, Cry Cameroon Ministries [USA] has also been instrumental in sending multiple volunteer ministry teams from the USA to Harvest Children’s Home. Their missions were many including: staff training on how to better care for the children, how to improve their quality of life and how to better prepare them to be contributing leaders in Cameroon’s future. The stability of these children and hope for a better tomorrow depend solely on God’s grace manifested in the charitable acts of compassionate people like you, the loving dedication of the HCH staff, and the prayers, wisdom, and vision of the US based volunteer Board of Directors of Cry Cameroon Ministries [USA].
