Mission 98 was started by LuAnn Turner as Multi-Housing Ministry through Bear Valley Church in 2001. It began with a small group and some community building activities in an apartment complex near Bear Valley Church. As they moved into this new arena, more joined, building a team committed to this mission. Slowly God taught and blessed. Local apartment managers began to hear about this ministry and invite them into their communities. They were soon led to a condo community where one of the owners donated an apartment to use as a church. Today, this condo community serves as the flagship for this mission. As the result of an army of volunteer missionaries, lives in 14 apartment, mobile home, and motel communities have been impacted. The driving force of this ministry is friendship and relationship, reaching children, teens, and adults through education, resources, and caring ministries.
Mission 98 seeks to take Christ and His church into apartment, mobile home and motel communities. This is a ministry about building relationships with people through kindness projects, social activities, and service. Through loving relationships, we offer Jesus to a population that is nearly 98% without a church home.
1. Holistic Development: Attention will be given to the spiritual, physical, emotional, and practical development of interns’ lives. 2. Low Control/High Accountability: We want to give interns the freedom to use their gifts and passion. At the same time, we will hold interns accountable for what they do and how it fits with the mission of Mission 98. 3. Service: Leadership is about serving the body and the community. All leaders in the community, including interns, are expected to see themselves as servants and to help out pleasantly with any task or assignment. 4. Team work: Being a team member requires kindness, patience, forgiveness, a positive, go-to attitude, a good sense of humor and a teachable spirit. It is essential that interns come wanting to love and serve not only the multi-housing population, but also their team members.

Enhance current relationships and build new ones through community meals and carnivals 4. Utilize the new perspectives and ideas our interns can offer as we seek to strengthen and expand our current ministries.
