The Path Project began in 2009 in the Gwinnett Estates Mobile Home Park in Loganville, GA as an outreach ministry of Graystone Church. It has since grown into an independent charitable organization serving children and families in several mobile home communities in Georgia and Tennessee.
The Path Project partners with families, schools, churches and businesses to help children and teenagers in at-risk communities close the achievement gap and find the right path for their lives – spiritually, academically, and socially. Our hope is that every child who is part of The Path Project will:
Know and follow God’s plan for their life (spiritual)
Graduate from high school with a plan for their future (academic)
Become productive members of society who give back to their community (social)
We believe every child deserves the opportunity to achieve their dreams in life. Our vision is to see thousands of children from at-risk communities across the US grow up and achieve their God-given dreams and purpose.
In Georgia, only 57% of Latino students graduate high school. The high school graduation rates in the communities we serve have always even lower due to a variety of factors including: limited English spoken in homes (majority Mexican immigrants), a lack of basic academic skills by 3rd grade, parents who did not graduate high school, a majority of residents living below the poverty line, drug and alcohol abuse, gang activity and a lack of positive role models.
The Path Project operates community centers inside at-risk mobile home communities. As part of The Path Project, children, teenagers and families participate in Mommy & Me, Preschool, After-School, Literacy, Mentoring, Soccer, Summer Camp, Career, and Life Skills programs. All of these programs are designed using research-based best practices. Certified teachers and youth development specialists oversee the programs and serve alongside parents and volunteers to help children and teenagers in these communities find the right path for their lives!
