Our History

Asociación Proyecto Butterfly is a Christian non-profit organization founded in Valencia, Spain, in 2021. It was created to support children and families facing serious medical and humanitarian needs.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide a safe and caring home for children who travel to Spain for life-changing medical treatment that is unavailable in their countries of origin. We accompany them and their families throughout the entire process, providing accommodation and social, educational and hospital support. Guided by our Christian faith and values, we seek to serve each child and family with compassion, dignity and love, while also developing humanitarian and international cooperation projects that improve the lives of children and their communities.

Our Values

Our values are rooted in our Christian faith and guide the way we serve children, families and communities. We believe in compassion, dignity, love, service, responsibility and respect for every person. We are committed to creating a caring and supportive environment where children and families feel welcomed and accompanied throughout difficult circumstances. We also value commitment, teamwork and responsible service, especially when working with children in vulnerable situations.

What We Do

We help children from other countries who are living with serious medical conditions that severely affect their health and quality of life and, in some cases, may put their lives at risk. We facilitate their journey to Spain so they can access medical treatment that is not available to them in their countries of origin.

While they receive treatment, Casa Butterfly becomes their temporary home. We provide free accommodation and meals for the children and their accompanying family members, as well as transportation, hospital accompaniment, social and educational support, and assistance throughout their medical journey.

Our aim is to ensure that no child or family has to face this process alone. We provide a safe and caring environment where they can focus on treatment and recovery while receiving the practical and emotional support they need.

Christian faith is an important and natural part of daily life at Casa Butterfly, although evangelism is not the primary mission of our organization. We openly speak about God and faith with the children and their families, particularly during difficult moments, encouraging them to trust in God and His care. We pray together before hospital admissions, medical procedures and surgeries, as well as at other moments of everyday life. We also use Bible-based stories and activity books with the children. Our faith shapes the way we accompany and support the families throughout their time with us.
