Headquartered in Roswell, Georgia.

Our History

Founder Michele Rickett and her husband have worked internationally for over 30 years. It was during their years in Africa that Michele witnessed the disproportionate suffering of girls. Her vision was to raise awareness to address the issues females face and work with local Christian initiatives to empower vulnerable girls.

Our Mission

She Is Safe works to prevent, rescue and restore women and girls from abuse and slavery in high risk places around the world, equipping them to build a life of freedom, faith and a strong future.

Our Values

We follow five biblical, business, and relational values: Servanthood – We treat volunteers, vendors, donors, and employees with integrity. Quality – We invite review and critique from each staff member, volunteer, and field partner. Innovation – We pursue better ways to perform our services and internal operations. Learning – Regardless of titles or positions, we remain involved in the learning process. Love – Our work environment should demonstrate love in a friendly, fun, and forgiving spirit.

What We Do

She Is Safe frees and empowers women who are at risk for abuse, exploitation, and oppression. This is accomplished by collaborating with local initiatives of education, economic empowerment, anti-trafficking, and advocacy. Prevention – She Is Safe provides alternatives to degradation and slavery through literacy, health, vocational training, and savings and lending, built on the foundation of the Gospel. Rescue – Our local co-workers show up as friends where girls are being trafficked: transit areas, brothel communities, border towns and conflict zones. Girls are provided free STD testing, food and safe passage to escape slavery. Restoration – We accompany rescued women and girls to safe houses and villages where they receive spiritual and physical nurture with daily worship, nutrition and love. As they heal, they gain vocational skills to build lives of dignity and purpose.
