Swing for Success was officially founded in December 2024, but God began planting the seeds for it in my heart long before.

While in South Africa, I was struck by a painful contrast: pristine golf courses surrounded by communities facing deep disadvantage — the two worlds divided by barbed wire fences. Golf, for so many youth here, felt like a distant, untouchable sport reserved for the wealthy — and typically, white — elite. But I saw more than just a game. I saw a tool.

I realized that golf could become the unlikely bridge to reach these young people — to offer mentorship, structure, joy, and most importantly, a chance to share the hope of Jesus Christ.

Swing for Success is a nonprofit that uses golf to engage youth from under-resourced schools and neighborhoods. Through daily after-school programs, we teach the game, provide academic and life skills support, and build relationships rooted in love, trust, and truth. This space has opened the door to share the gospel in a natural, consistent, and life-changing way.

Today, we’ve partnered with Strand Golf Club and three local high schools to launch the program. Students are showing up eager — not just to swing a club, but to belong, to be poured into, and to discover something more. Many of them are already hearing about Christ, asking questions, and finding joy in places they never expected.

We believe this is only the beginning.

I realized that golf could become the unlikely bridge to reach these young people — to offer mentorship, structure, joy, and most importantly, a chance to share the hope of Jesus Christ.

Today, we’ve partnered with three local high schools to launch the program. Students are showing up eager — not just to swing a club, but to belong, to be poured into, and to discover something more. Many of them are already hearing about Christ, asking questions, and finding joy in places they never expected.

We believe this is only the beginning.

Our Mission

Swing for Success exists to empower disadvantaged youth through the game of golf—providing mentorship, life skills, academic support, and, most importantly, the life-changing hope of the gospel. We use golf as a bridge to build character, open opportunity, and introduce young people to the love and truth of Jesus Christ.

What We Do

Swing for Success exists to transform the lives of disadvantaged youth by making golf—and the life-changing lessons it teaches—accessible to them. Our program breaks down the barriers that have long kept these communities separated from the game, using golf as a tool to coach, mentor, and disciple young people in a holistic, Christ-centered way.

At the heart of our program is golf instruction and competition. Students receive consistent coaching from caring mentors, learn the fundamentals of the game, and are given opportunities to play, grow, and even compete—many for the first time in their lives. Golf is more than a game for us; it’s a gateway to personal growth.

But our impact goes far beyond the course.

Through weekly sessions, students are also immersed in leadership development and life skills training, all grounded in biblical truth. Every lesson—whether it’s on confidence, integrity, perseverance, or responsibility—is rooted in Scripture. We don’t just talk about success; we show students how to build it on a solid foundation of faith.

We believe in sharing the gospel through everything we do, letting Christ be seen through our actions, our teaching, and our relationships. The Bible is not an add-on to our curriculum—it shapes our entire approach to mentorship, decision-making, and growth.

While spiritual and character development are central, we also support our students academically. From homework help to goal-setting support, we ensure they are growing not only on the course and in their hearts, but also in the classroom.
