TEL International

At TEL International, we recruit, train, and under gird the ministry of indigenous missionaries that reach out with the love of Jesus Christ by sharing the gospel through holistic ministry that compassionately meets the needs of hurting people, evangelizes the lost, disciples the saved, and establishes new converts into the body of Christ.

Putting our faith into action is at the very heart of our Christian calling to be in mission, and reaching out in mission locally and globally. Regardless of where we are in our spiritual journey, as Christians, we are privileged and at the same time expected to be active participants in God’s mission work in the world. Whether young or aged, rich are poor, man or woman, lay or clergy, we are called by God to serve.

Mission work is about praying, giving, and doing to advance the Kingdom of God here on earth. The world in which we live continues to change dramatically. With more people living in a more complex world, human needs seem more complex and pressing than ever. However, people’s basic physical and spiritual needs are the same today as they have always been. Answer the call today and fulfill Jesus’ mandate to be in mission.

Our History

Elgin and Dorothy Taylor the founders of TEL International, served 55 years in foreign missionary service. Between 1959 and 1982, the Taylors planted the seed of the gospel across the globe, beginning in Okinawa Japan.

In 1964, they were transferred to Nigeria, W. Africa, but were evacuated to London, England due to the Biafra crisis, where they remained and worked for the next fifteen years. While there, Elgin founded a cross-cultural church; a Missionary Bible College; and established a regional mission’s headquarters in Europe where he supervised Christian in Action (CinA) missionaries sent to Europe, Africa, South China, and India. Returning to America, 1980, they worked at the US Center for World Missions, Pasadena, CA with Dr. Ralph Winters.

In 1982, Elgin was elected president of CinA where he managed over 450 missionaries and national leaders. During his tenure, the ministry expanded into 23 countries. He served in this office for 20 years before resigning for health reasons – November 2002. After a brief retirement Elgin and Dorothy founded TEL International – August 2007.

Our Mission

To meet the needs of hurting people, evangelize the lost, disciple and establish new converts into the body and ministry of local Christian churches.

Our Values

Evangelism focused, discipleship driven, church centered, compassion motivated, and integrity guided. These core values have guided us in our interactions with those we serve and with each other throughout our history. These values are also the cornerstone of our character as a mission society and of our Code of Ethics, and helps to drive our culture of compliance, ethical decision making and accountability.

What We Do

We plant churches. However, there are certain aspects of our work that extend beyond church plants and missionary support. The work also involves meeting the needs of the communities we serve through the following initiatives: Adopt-A-School Program, Orphan Care Ministry, Feeding and Nutrition Program, Clean Water Projects, Medical Missions Outreach, and the Agricultural Business Initiative.
