The Fortis Collective

The Fortis Collective was founded in response to the persistent challenges facing under-resourced rural schools in Southern Africa, particularly the lack of reliable water, food security and basic infrastructure needed for children to thrive. Drawing on on-the-ground experience and guided by Christian values of service, stewardship and compassion, the organisation developed a practical, integrated model that links water access directly to nutrition and learning outcomes. This led to the creation of the Seeds That Feed initiative, which combines rainwater harvesting with regenerative school gardens to support feeding schemes, restore land and build community resilience. Governed in the UK and establishing an operational presence in South Africa, The Fortis Collective was created to deliver sustainable, accountable and long-term impact for children and their communities.

Our Mission

The Fortis Collective exists to improve the wellbeing and educational outcomes of children in under-resourced communities by providing sustainable access to clean water, food security and essential infrastructure. Guided by Christian values of compassion, stewardship and service, we partner with schools and communities to deliver practical, long-term solutions that restore dignity, strengthen resilience and create lasting impact.

Our Values

We believe faith is demonstrated through service. Our work is rooted in Christian compassion and expressed through practical, life-changing action that meets real needs in real communities.

What We Do

The Fortis Collective works with under-resourced rural schools to improve child wellbeing and educational outcomes through practical, sustainable solutions that address water access, food security and basic infrastructure. We install reliable water systems, including rainwater-harvesting tanks, and use this water to establish regenerative school gardens through our Seeds That Feed initiative, supporting feeding schemes with fresh, locally grown produce. Alongside this, we strengthen sanitation and hygiene provision and work closely with schools and communities to restore unused land, build skills, encourage ownership and create long-term resilience. Guided by Christian values and strong governance, our approach focuses on measurable impact, sustainability and lasting change for children and the communities they are part of.
