The Fortis Collective was founded in response to the persistent challenges facing under-resourced rural schools in Southern Africa, particularly the lack of reliable water, food security and basic infrastructure needed for children to thrive. Drawing on on-the-ground experience and guided by Christian values of service, stewardship and compassion, the organisation developed a practical, integrated model that links water access directly to nutrition and learning outcomes. This led to the creation of the Seeds That Feed initiative, which combines rainwater harvesting with regenerative school gardens to support feeding schemes, restore land and build community resilience. Governed in the UK and establishing an operational presence in South Africa, The Fortis Collective was created to deliver sustainable, accountable and long-term impact for children and their communities.
