Worldwide Heart to Heart Children’s Village Ministry

Worldwide Heart to Heart Children’s Village Ministry is a Christian nondenominational nonprofit 501(c)(3) that ministers to children ages birth to young adult in Honduras. Our Children’s Village in Tegucigalpita is currently home to 102 children. In addition, in Puerto Cortes we have a Medical Dental Clinic, a church, a K-11 school, and in Conception del Sur, a Learning Center.

Our History

Worldwide Heart to Heart Children’s Village Ministry began in response to Hurricane Mitch.  Our goal was and is to help abused and abandoned children in Honduras. In 2000 a stranger we met in Honduras, told us he dreamed we were coming the night before he met us and God told him to help us. He gave us 8 acres of land in Tegucigalpita. We began building in 2001 a little at a time, as we had funds. In 2003 we began our Meals from the Heart program, feeding 80 children in Puerto Cortes who lived at the dump and on the streets. On Sept. 21, 2003, our first 5 boys came to live at our partially finished home in Tegucigalpita.  However, God sent us whole families of children; boys, girls, handicapped kids and babies.  So, through the next 6 years we built a Girls’ home, a Baby House, a Teen Boys’ house, and a Worldwide Heart to Heart Children’s Village Ministry Headquarters/Teen Girls’ house.  In 2006, what began as a small Bible Study grew to a congregation of almost 250 in a few months.  In 2008 we built a church. With donated equipment and mission team labor, our clinic was built in 2009. In 2010, we began our SEIP Program (Summer English Immersion Program), bringing 10 or more of our children to the US each summer to spend two months with their sponsors. In December 2011, supporters sent us money to build a school.  It opened in August 2012 in Puerto Cortes.  We have over 270 students enrolled this year. In February 2015 we opened our Learning Center for 182 disadvantaged children in Conception Del Sur. In July 2015 we purchased 3 acres of land in Puerto Cortes to expand our school. Since 2000, we have hosted 15-20 mission teams a year from the US and Canada to help with this profound work God is doing. Countless thousands in Honduras and all over the world have been brought to a saving grace in Jesus Christ through His work in Honduras.  God be praised!!

Our Mission

Our mission is to rescue, raise and restore the abused and abandoned children that God brings to us, providing them with the opportunity to learn about Jesus and to have a good education, so they can become responsible adults and productive citizens in the country of Honduras.

Our Values

Jesus told us to “be rightly related to Him, then go…give His compassion…care for the orphans…make disciples…”  Our guiding scripture is:

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.” II Corinthians 1:3-5

What We Do

Our Children’s Village and Homes are currently home to 102 children, ages 2-22. We have a Christian Bilingual School, preschool-11th grades for over 270 children, taught and administered by US Long-term Volunteers and Honduran citizens. Our Medical/Dental Clinic serves not only our family, but others in need. Our nondenominational church of 200 ministers Jesus and discipleship to our family, as well as the nearby community. In Conception Del Sur, we have a Learning Center for 182 children ages 6-18, where they learn English, Computer Science, Bible Teaching and get homework help. Each summer 10 or more of our children travel to the US with our Summer English Immersion Program to live with their sponsors for 2 months.  Six of our young adults are attending College either here in Honduras or the US. We host 15-20 short-term mission teams from all over the US and Canada.  They include Medical, Dental, Optometry, Construction, Crusade, Vacation Bible School, Summer Camp, Women’s Ministry, Drama Camp and more. In addition each year we have several long-term volunteers come to live with us and help with the children. Our Church and School do outreach ministry to those less fortunate on a regular basis. It is a major focus to this ministry.
