YWAM Training Papua New Guinea

Youth With A Mission is an international and interdenominational missions movement, operating in many countries throughout the world. YWAM Training Papua New Guinea (PNG) is based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea and runs 24 week Discipleship Training Schools (DTS) for people aged 18 – 35.

DTS is a life changing experience where you will get input from international speakers and the opportunity to put your faith into action and serve others on outreach. The DTS is made of 2 parts Lecture phase and Outreach phase. Lecture phase will take place in Papua New Guinea and include small outreach opportunities within the nation, Outreach phase is where we will split into smaller teams and go internationally to other nations to spread the message of hope both in word and through practical service.

Our History

Youth With A Mission (YWAM) started in 1960, with the vision of waves of young people coming from every nation and going to every nation, spreading the gospel and sharing the hope of Jesus.

Our Mission

Youth With A Mission (YWAM) is a global movement of Christians from many denominations dedicated to presenting Jesus personally to this generation, to mobilising as many as possible to help in this task, and to the training and equipping of believers for their part in fulfilling the Great Commission.

As citizens of God’s kingdom, we are called to love, worship, and obey our Lord, to love and serve His Body, the Church, and to present the whole gospel for the whole person throughout the whole world.

We of Youth With A Mission believe that the Bible is God’s inspired and authoritative word, revealing that Jesus Christ is God’s son; that people are created in God’s image; that He created us to have eternal life through Jesus Christ; that although all people have sinned and come short of God’s glory, God has made salvation possible through the death on the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ; that repentance, faith, love and obedience are fitting responses to God’s initiative of grace towards us; that God desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth; and that the Holy Spirit’s power is demonstrated in and through us for the accomplishment of Christ’s last commandment, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to everyone” (Mark 16:15 NLT).

What We Do

YWAM is focused on 3 main areas of ministry training, evangelism and mercy ministries Training – Through our training programs we aim to better equip Christians to grow in their relationships with God and serve others in everything. Our introductory course is the Discipleship Training School (DTS), It’s an intensive five months of growing more like Jesus and serving Him in the world.

Evangelism – Christ’s love inspires us to use many creative means to make His gospel understood to any audience. We use tools such as music, performing arts and sports to connect with people of all ages and develop friendships which can lead to conversations of eternal value. YWAM also starts churches in places where there may be no church at all. We believe everyone has the right to hear the good news about Jesus and our hope is to see fellowships of believers worshipping and following Jesus in every nation, tribe and tongue.

Mercy Ministries – If you believe it, you have to live it. YWAM’s mercy ministry teams follow Jesus’ example of compassion to those in need. We operate relief and development programs in over 100 countries, working among people living in desperate circumstances.
