Mission Finder Podcast #6 | Season 2
Hosts: Andrew Michael Arroyo & Don Nava
In the latest episode of our podcast, we explore the true nature of the Holy Spirit by focusing on His personhood and divine character. While many believers acknowledge the Holy Spirit as essential to their faith, fewer fully grasp who He is and how personally He works in their lives. This episode clarifies that the Holy Spirit is not an impersonal force, but a living Person with intellect, emotions, and will.
The Biblical Foundation of His Personhood
Scripture clearly reveals the personal nature of the Holy Spirit. Romans 8:27 shows that He has a mind and actively intercedes for believers according to God’s will, establishing a deeply relational and interactive connection. Ephesians 4:30 further affirms His personhood by showing that He experiences emotions, including joy and grief. These passages remind us that our relationship with the Holy Spirit is meant to be personal and meaningful.
The Divine Attributes of the Holy Spirit
Beyond His personhood, the Holy Spirit is fully God. He possesses divine attributes such as eternality, omniscience, omnipresence, and omnipotence. These qualities confirm His role within the Godhead and His active involvement in the lives of believers. Acts 5:3–4 underscores this truth by equating lying to the Holy Spirit with lying to God, highlighting His divine authority and presence.
Cultivating a Daily Relationship with the Holy Spirit
This episode also offers practical guidance for building a deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit. Awareness is the starting point, recognizing His presence throughout everyday life. Open and honest communication strengthens intimacy with God, while cooperation allows His guidance to shape our decisions and actions.
We also discuss the importance of yielding to the Holy Spirit’s leading, even when it requires stepping beyond comfort zones. Practices such as quiet reflection, journaling, worship, and engaging in community create space for spiritual growth and alignment with God’s will.
