Victorious Children’s Ministries Uganda (VCMU) is a Christian Community Based Organization. We believe that through living out the love of Jesus we can rescue our children and raise future leaders and caring responsible adults.
VCMU was founded in 2009 by Mr Robert Kirabira. Robert lost his father at a young age and helped his mother struggle to provide the basic necessities and an education for her children. In 2009 Robert set out on his life passion to rescue and give the orphaned, vulnerable and poor children in the community a chance at life. Robert started with 3 children in his mother’s small 2 bedroom family home in 2009, funded by working in Iraq for 2 years. By 2010 the numbers increased to 10 and due to generous donations of supporters a large boys room was built in 2013, housing 6 more children. Also in 2014 Robert purchased land with a building, which he renovated into 2 classrooms. The nursery school opened in February 2015 providing education to 50 children from poor families who could not afford school fees. A 3rd large classroom is under construction.
We aim to cooperate and collaborate with local authorities and members of the community to offer a safe home, regular meals, clean drinking water, health care, an education and a new start for orphans, vulnerable and poor children. By empowering the children through the teaching of Jesus, to grow spiritually, physically, emotionally and intellectually, they will reach their potential in life and grow to be healthy, happy, responsible, caring adults who will make a difference in their community.
We are winners through Jesus. VCMU believe that Children are our future and every child deserves a caring safe home with regular meals, clean drinking water and the right to an education. VCM seeks to live out the love of Jesus; modelling and teaching Christian values of love, respect, trust, hope and service by generosity and caring for others. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” Gal 6:22
We do this by bringing the love of Christ into everything we do. We work with families and individuals in the community and provide a safe, happy, loving family environment, healthcare and an education to orphans, vulnerable and poor children in the community. VCMU houses 16 children at the ministry, supports another 32 vulnerable children in the community with food and school fees and provides an education to 50 children, ages 3-7 from poor families at our new nursery school. We cultivate crops at our 2 acre garden which we use to provide healthy meals for the children. We also distribute food to poor families in the community and sell some crops to provide funds for the ministry.
VCMU offers the opportunity for volunteers and missionaries to serve with us in sharing
Jesus, caring for and teaching the children. Our ministry opportunities include: assisting teachers in the nursery school, organizing activities, games, songs, arts and crafts, English, computer skills, sports, helping with homework, gardening, administration work, building work on new building, landscaping at the school.
