As the Missionary Agriculture Professor this position is responsible for interacting with the Liberia International Christian College (LICC) Agriculture Department, the faith based community especially in Ganta, and the Hope in the Harvest Missions International (HITHMI) team (national and international). The work is performed in accordance with established rules and regulations as set forth by HITHMI and the LICC. This position requires the exercise of independent judgment in the performance of duties and in the supervision of an international board. The Missionary Professor facilitates the use and access of materials and resources and services of HITHMI in accordance with its missions, vision and core values.

The name of the person you will report to is Mike Rhea. He and his wife Karen, Are administrative directors and house parents for the orphanage. They have the responsibility of raising up to eight children in a Christian, home-like setting. They assume normal parental duties including purchasing of food and necessary supplies, paying the bills and monitoring school curriculum, and the children’s school work. The orphanage is a 40 acre working farm and it is necessary to shepherd the children through growing up including their responsibilities on the farm. They are looking for a set of house parents with the intention that these house parents will replace Mike and Karen in that role and will eventually elevate to the Position of Executive Director for the orphanage as Mike and Karen move into retirement. We are also looking for an additional set of house parents for the second house on the property which, at this time, is not yet staffed and operational.
