Little Mary’s Hospitality House was founded in 1982 by Thomas and Maureen Fischer.  The Fischers had a little girl named Mary who died when she was 3 years old of a cancerous brain tumor.  After she died, the Fischers started Little Mary’s Hospitality House.

What is Little Mary’s?

Little Mary’s offers a free vacation destination to families who have children battling life- threatening or terminal illnesses.  Little Mary’s goal is to help families cope with the mental and physical stresses pertaining to their illnesses.  Little Mary’s is in Wellston, Michigan.  Wellston is located about 25 miles west of Cadillac, 21 miles east of Manistee, and 50 miles southwest of Traverse City.

The facilities include an apartment building with 6 apartments, a huge playground, gazebos, picnic area, lake front (2 boats) and a large recreation room with numerous games and a café.  The
only thing vacationing families need to bring is their food for the week.

What are we looking for?

Little Mary’s is looking for full- time, year-round managers.  The managers are expected to live on the property in an apartment (expenses paid).  The duties of the managers include: apartment cleaning, grounds maintenance, scheduling of family’s vacation bookings…and simply being warm and welcoming to our guests!  We are looking to hire a retired Christian couple who is drawing Social Security and able to live on a limited salary and would consider this a ministry to serve the Lord.
