When
This position is available immediately, and is a full-time, ongoing position. Candidates are asked to consider a commitment of 2 years initially.
Skills
While we strongly prefer candidates with experience working with kids, candidates are not expected to have formal training or experience directly with the provision of psychosocial support strategies. A core component of this position is the provision of very hands on training & support from our resident school psychologist.
What We Will Do
The Support Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, coordinating, & managing support strategies for children in our partner organizations: 2 residential facilities (children’s homes), and a school serving the same kids. These children currently do not have access to more intensive & individualized psychosocial support strategies, which our grant project aims to address. The Support Specialist will have the opportunity to help address this critical need while learning about technical support strategies from our staff school psychologist who will be directly training & supervising the Support Specialist.
