Mission Finder Spotlight: Digital Missions Display & Paul Douglas

mission display Paul Douglas

Digital Missions Display (DMD) is a technology-driven ministry that merges faith with modern innovation. Founded in 2015 by Paul Douglas, this ministry empowers churches to connect more deeply with their missionaries through interactive touchscreen solutions. With a profound biblical calling and a heart for global missions, Paul and his wife Tamara have transformed how congregations engage, pray, and give.

Vision & Mission

At its core, Digital Missions Display exists “to help bring awareness to missions, missionaries, and the Biblical Mandate to Raise, Send, Support, and Pray for those led to become missionaries.” Paul, a WordPress developer and follower of Christ, coalesced this ministry after being inspired by Pastor M. Adam Summers at Faith Baptist Church in Michigan. Recognizing the need for a higher-impact missions display, Paul leveraged his technical skills to create a digital platform using “MissionaryConnect” and “Web-based missionsApp”. This solution clearly embodies Romans 10:15 — “How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace” — reminding users of the church’s charge to support and send missionaries.

How It Works

Digital Missions Display provides churches with end-to-end touchscreen solutions, comprising:

  • A 65″ commercial-grade touchscreen monitor
  • Heavy-duty wall mount
  • Windows 10 Pro Mini PC
  • Pre-installed MissionsApp software
  • AnyDesk remote management
  • Graphic support and remote training via Zoom and phone

Once installed, churches can upload letters, photos, videos, and prayer requests. The software automatically creates QR Codes for any link, including websites, online prayer letters, text, and phone. It’s intuitive, visual, and suitable for all age groups, transforming the traditional bulletin board into a dynamic experience.

Testimonials: Lives Moved, Missions Supported

Firsthand experiences highlight the ministry’s deep impact. A church member named Rachel V shared that their first missions conference after implementing the display increased giving so significantly that they were able to take on four new missionary families immediately. Pastor Tanner Stahl praised Paul Douglas for his outstanding support and recommended the system to all churches serious about world missions. Pastor Steven Griffith described it as a giant iPad that allows everyone, from children to senior saints, to interactively learn about their missionaries.

These voices reflect consistent praise for DMD’s ability to energize congregation prayer, enhance giving, and foster multi-generational involvement. The emotional resonance of having missionaries brought to life on-screen fosters a deeper connection and often ignites a newfound commitment to missionary support.

Paul & Tamara Douglas: The Heart Behind the Service

Based in Gaffney, South Carolina, Paul and Tamara Douglas carry deep roots in church ministry and family. They are a married couple with five children, grounded in faith and community service. Paul’s background in web development and his pastoral upbringing coalesced into a mission to democratize missions awareness through accessible visual tech.

Paul is known for being both approachable and deeply committed to the mission. His wife Tamara complements the ministry with her administrative insight and spiritual discernment. Their children have grown up helping with various aspects of the setup and installations, making this a genuine family-run ministry.

Their journey began in 2014 in Michigan and was formally launched in 2015, with their efforts expanding nationwide. Over 1,000 churches now use their system. This grassroots approach has led to a movement that is less about selling a product and more about cultivating a renewed heart for missions.

Achievements & Reach

  • Over 1,000 installations across U.S. churches using proprietary MissionsApp software
  • Maintains a 5-star rating on Facebook and Google reviews
  • Demonstrable fundraising impact: Churches report increases in missions giving, sometimes doubling support
  • Frequently invited to speak or mentor at regional and national ministry conferences
  • Partnerships with mission boards and denominational networks that value both the theological and technological aspects of the ministry

Their ministry model has proven scalable, reliable, and grounded in personal service. Paul often drives across states to assist with setup, training, or troubleshooting, reinforcing the personal investment he brings to every church that joins the DMD network.

Biblical Engagement in a Digital Age

Digital Missions Display bridges ancient calling and modern methodology. Its features—map-based navigation, multimedia integration, and QR connectivity—enable congregations to experience missions as more than static visuals. It breathes story, conversation, and prayer into the mission board.

Paul’s tech-savvy approach ensures even spiritually enthusiastic but tech-nervous church leaders find the system manageable. Support includes training, phone help, and remote login assistance—geared specifically toward pastoral and volunteer teams. Importantly, the software is affordably priced between $20–$40 per month, depending on the needs of the church—making it a practical option even for smaller congregations with limited budgets

Through DMD, churches are not only informed about their missionaries but actively drawn into their journeys. This holistic model of engagement reflects a shift in how the Church thinks about missions—from occasional emphasis to ongoing relationship.

Future Plans & Ongoing Innovations

Looking ahead, Paul, Tamara, and the DMD team plan to:

  • Expand reach to more small-to-mid-sized churches
  • Integrate new features like prayer tracking and live-stream missionary check-ins
  • Develop enhanced multimedia storytelling (video journaling and maps)
  • Continue partnerships with mission boards and denominational networks
  • Launch training modules and resource libraries for churches to host mission-focused workshops

Their commitment extends beyond technology—they aim to cultivate a culture of consistent, engaged missions support across generations and locales. The next version of MissionsApp is expected to offer multilingual support and offline functionality, expanding its reach internationally.

Why This Matters to Mission Finder

  • Innovative impact: DMD elevates mission support from passive to participatory
  • Faith-and-family foundation: Spearheaded by a believer-led team in relational, pastoral settings
  • Proven results: Churches are reporting measurable increases in missions engagement
  • Scalable solution: Delivers high-level support and training suited for varied church environments
  • Scriptural anchoring: Aligns clearly with biblical principles like Romans 10:15

Digital Missions Display stands as a testament to how devotional passion and digital innovation can merge to further the Great Commission. With thousands of congregational interactions monthly and proven shifts in missions giving, Paul Douglas’s ministry illustrates both heart and strategy. Through accessible technology, he equips churches to foster prayer, awareness, and lifelong missionary care—making this ministry an inspiring model for faith-based storytelling in our digital era.
