In 2010, Haiti was devastated by an earthquake which killed 230,000 and displaced over 1 million people. Prior to 2010, Haiti was the poorest country in the Americas; the earthquake made a bad situation even worse. Our founders went to Haiti to learn what it means to live in poverty, seeking to understand before jumping in to serve. Bold Hope was established as a response to what they learned and experienced.
We started in Haiti, but international expansion was always the long-term hope and dream. Astonishingly, 42% of the world’s population has not heard the good news of salvation. As tensions continued to rise in Haiti and travel was restricted, we had groups of people who still wanted to serve. In 2018, God began to open doors to further develop relationships with our connections around the world.
