What We Do

Community Mental Health & Psychosocial Support – Bringing Services Closer to People
In this community, like many others, has been impacted by various stressors, including the economic hardships, social inequalities, GBV, HIV, Alcohol & Drug Abuse etc. These factors have contributed to increased mental health/psychosocial related issues such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. The lack of accessible and culturally appropriate mental health services further worsens the situation, leading to a significant gap in mental health/psychosocial support services. FHMI in partnership with other similar organizations we have been able to support the community with affordable, professional mental health interventions. Our treatment modalities include; individual, family, and group psychotherapy, psychosocial support approaches within the communities where we engage families, schools and places of worship.
Because of limited Mental Health Services & Social stigma associated with mental health issues deters many from clients seeking help in the office, we therefore dedicate our work to reaching out to the clients within their families & communities through the VHTs, PSW, CDOs and other local authorities.
