Our Values
Our beliefs ground us, compel us, and drive us to love and serve. We believe in one true God, eternally existing in three persons — God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit — each of whom possesses equally all the attributes of Deity and the characteristics of personality. We believe the triune God is the creator and the sustainer of the universe. [Matt. 28:19-20]
We believe in Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord, the only virgin born Son of God. We accept Him in His sinless life and ministry, His vicarious atonement, His bodily resurrection from the tomb, His present intercession in heaven, and we believe His return may occur at any time. [Isaiah 7:14] We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the triune God, and God Himself. The Holy Spirit has come into the world to reveal and glorify Christ. He convicts and draws sinners to Christ, imparts newness of life, continually indwells them from the moment of spiritual birth, and seals them until the day of redemption.
We believe in the sixty-six books of the Bible as God’s infallible and inherent Word, uniquely, verbally, and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Bible is the supreme and final authority for mankind in all matters of faith and conduct. [2 Tim. 3:16-17] We believe that man has been created in the image of God. Man’s nature was corrupted and marred by sin. When man sinned, he openly rebelled against and thus alienated himself from God. That historic fall brought mankind under divine condemnation.
Every person is therefore, in need of salvation, regeneration, and spiritual renewal. [Eph. 2:8-9] We believe that salvation is wholly the work of God’s free grace and a person’s personal response to that grace by faith. Salvation is not the product of human endeavor neither good works or goodness. A person is saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus. [Eph. 2:9]
We believe that the Church is the body whom Christ is the head. The Church is thus composed of people of diverse ethnic and linguistic and cultural background whose sins have been washed away in the Blood of the Lamb. The Church is composed of people who assemble together regularly for corporate worship, prayers, participation in the ordinances, edification through the Scriptures, and for mutual encouragement. [1Cor. 12]
We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ commanded all believers to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world and to disciple people of every nation. The fulfillment of that Great Commission requires that all worldly and personal ambitions be subordinated to a total commitment to Him who loved us and gave Himself for us. [Matt. 28:18-20]
