Good News India cares for nearly 3,000 orphaned and/or destitute children in 28 Dream Centers (children’s home). Most of our work is deep inside rural India where His light shines dim and His Word is scarcely heard. And the people live in dreadful poverty. Many of our kids have a single parent who has to eke out a living as a day laborer, working all day in the fields for about 50 cents per day. Sometimes both parents have to work like this in order to barely feed themselves. More often than not, the children “wander around” until the guardian comes home.
Our vision is to transform communities in Eastern India, (particularly Orissa, Western Bengal, Jharkand and Chattisgarh) through Children’s Homes (called Dream Centers), Leper Homes (Cities of Refuge), Youth Conventions and Strategic Leadership conferences.
Our plan is to do this by opening Residential Homes (Dream Centers) for orphaned and/or destitute children BEFORE they are sold into indentured servitude. In addition, we plan to establish Intervention Homes (Dream Centers) in Eastern India to rescue children BEFORE they are sold into sexual exploitation. Finally, we also want to provide a haven for Lepers (Cities of Refuge) and their children with food, shelter, clothing, medicines and education.
