Hagar’s Sisters

Motivated by God’s lovingkindness, Hagar’s Sisters cultivates the emotional and spiritual healing of women impacted by intimate partner abuse, empowering them through care planning, education, and compassionate community.

Our History

Five women from a single congregation realized they were married to abusive men, who were also professing Christians. Four of the five had restraining orders against their husbands. They met to learn about abuse, to encourage and support each other to honor God in light of the abuse they experienced, and to seek God’s will for their lives and marriages.

Our Mission

Christian women affected by intimate partner abuse are empowered to establish a safe and spiritually vibrant life within the context of continuing and lasting healing.

Our Values

Empowering Christian women impacted by domestic abuse through care planning, education, and compassionate community.

What We Do

We offer care planning, education and compassionate community to Christian women impacted by domestic abuse through a secure online self-paced program and connection with care coordinators who listen, pray and encourage. Support groups are offered in connection with the online learning. We are steadfast in our support for several years to ensure that each ‘Sister’ is cared for long-term.
