Health Teams International, Inc.

Health Teams International is comprised of health care workers and other interested individuals who have a heart for people around the world who are less fortunate than we are. Our main purpose is to assist in the evangelization of the unreached people groups of the world through the ministrations of short-term Christian health care teams. We are an ecumenical missionary organization incorporated in the United States as a 501(c)3 non-profit, tax-exempt corporation based in Oklahoma. Our Canadian counterpart is registered as a charitable organization under the rules of operation established by Canada Customs and Revenue Agency. Both bodies are permitted to issue tax receipts for financial contributions and for gifts-in-kind.

Our History

Our articles of incorporation require that we send our teams only to those groups of people that have little or no Christian witness. At the time of our founding in August 1986, there were 17,000 unreached people groups. Currently, that number has been reduced to less than 3,000 with the expectation that all of them will be reached in the near future. This is an exciting prospect!

Our Mission

Our organization has no dues or membership fees. Everyone is a volunteer who raises funds for missions trips through church, families, friends, and other sponsors. We get discount travel fares to help reduce expenses to the minimum.
From financial contributions from interested partners, we take a “tithe” from our resources to provide financial support to missionaries in the field as well as partial support for volunteers who are unable to raise full funding.

Our Values

Our motto is built on Paul’s talk in Romans 15:19-20: “I go only to those who have never heard the name of Christ, that I not build on another man’s foundation.” To achieve this goal, we concentrate on unreached people groups usually found in the 10/40 world window, although we strive to meet the needs of individuals in other areas as well.
