Our History

We started our mission in 2004 in San Ramon, Costa Rica. Our founders have backgrounds in ministry as Pastors, Youth-Pastors, and Ministry Leaders. We had a desire to bring groups from around the world come to this beautiful community and serve those in need through VBS and Construction.

Our Mission

Our mission trips are designed to be a cross-cultural adventure, sharing the love of Jesus Christ. We supply your team with training resources to prepare you for VBS. From the moment you book your trip with us, we focus on prayer, support, and empowerment, ensuring your team is ready to make a meaningful impact in Costa Rica and back in your hometown. We prioritize teamwork, fostering a spirit of collaboration that will strengthen your group as they return home. We help your team discover God’s vision for how they can serve the Kingdom of God when they return to their local church and community. Jesus is not an event, but a life!

Our Values

Pura Vida! Pure Life! We didn’t coin the phrase, the Ticos (Costa Ricans) did, but we thought it was the perfect name for our mission and life in Christ. We believe that being a Christian is not just a one-time event; it’s a way of life. Jesus calls his followers to be like him and do the things he did. This means living a Christ-filled life. We believe that the good news of Jesus Christ is life changing and we trust that everyone who comes to serve will experience “Pura Vida” and return home forever changed.

We were created for community, by a God who lives in community (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). This means that every person we encounter has a fundamental need to connect to know others, be known, love, and be loved. Our goal is to create genuine, lasting relationships with everyone we meet. By serving one another and embracing these deep connections, we can enrich our lives and those around us.

Jesus said, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve” (Mark 10:45). As followers of Jesus, who showed us what it means to serve, we strive to be like Him in our daily lives. We are called to look after those who are often forgotten or in need. When we help those who are struggling, we are not only doing good for them but also honoring Christ. By serving others with love and kindness, we reflect the heart of Jesus and fulfill our mission as His followers.

We believe in doing Kingdom work. Jesus talked about the Kingdom of God more than any other topic. We are not here to prop up or put down any particular denomination. We are here to share the kingdom of God with others. Therefore, we seek to build a multi-denominational ministry that attempts to bring unity to the body of Christ and the Kingdom by serving in it together. In the past 20 years we have hosted teams from many different denominations: Baptist, Christian and Missionary Alliance, Episcopalian, Lutheran, United Methodist, Reform, and Non-denominational.

We are passionate about reaching the lost for Jesus Christ. we believe that every Christian is called into and is gifted for mission. We believe that the church was created to participate in the mission of God to reach the world with the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ. Not only are we committed to evangelism, but we are committed to ongoing discipleship of those who make decisions to drop their nets and follow Jesus.

What We Do

We are a short term mission in San Ramon, Costa Rica. We bring groups from around the world to serve on VBS and construction teams in our community. If you are interested in going on a mission trip, gather friends or family to make up a team of at least 15 people. Our mission is full time in Costa Rica even when groups aren’t there. We have a sponsorship program where sponsors provide funding for students to be able to attend school. The students in the program have access to resources, discipleship for the students and their families, English classes, tutoring, computer classes, and more! We are a non-denominational organization that brings the message and love of Jesus Christ into communities in need.
