Sandy Bay Lighthouse Ministries

Sandy Bay Lighthouse Ministries works with children of Roatan, Honduras through an orphanage, youth center, and educational sponsorships. Volunteers welcome for construction teams,  sports, art, drama and computer camps. Also need staff teachers and construction workers.

Sandy Bay Lighthouse Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational, Christian organization that exists to address the needs of the underprivileged people of Roatan, Honduras.

We provide a loving, safe shelter for at-risk children.
We provide a quality bilingual Christian education at our Beacon School for children both in our Home and in the wider community, to prepare them for a secure future.
We provide opportunities for short-term mission teams. These are life-changing ministry opportunities for small groups to work on our campus and in the local communities.
Our vision is to expand our current ministries through accommodating additional children, expanding enrollment in our Beacon School and hosting additional mission experiences. Our staff and directors are committed to the highest ethical standards and strive to conduct a ministry which exemplifies clear Christian values.

Our structure includes a 501(c)3 corporation Sandy Bay Lighthouse Ministries, Inc, in the United States and a Non-Governmental Organization by the same name in Honduras. Our children’s home is named the Greenfield Children’s Home and is certified by DINAF, the governmental unit in Honduras which is responsible for family and child welfare. Our school, located adjacent to the children’s home, is certified by the Honduran agency for education. Unfortunately Honduras does not have the ability to assist us with any but regulatory oversight. The only paid staff that we have are the Hondurans which make up the staff of our children’s home and school.
