The Farm of Hope

The Farm of Hope in Costa Rica is a Christian evangelistic and discipleship program for mostly adult men with life-controlling issues which result in homelessness and addictions. We also give free equine therapy to children with disabilities. Our staff serves as intercultural missionaries as we strive to serve the Lord Jesus Christ bringing hope and healing through Him to the broken and hurting. Our working farm/ranch, (complete with all the animals), has a loving family type atmosphere. We are located walking distance (½ mile), from the beach on the Northern Pacific coast, 40 minutes from an International Airport. See also: https://www.themonkeyfarm.org/

Our History

The Farm began in 2012 as an organic animal rescue center with ministry on the side. In 2014, we began feeding dinner and ministering to homeless men and women. Every week, we encouraged these hurting people to get clean and sober and seek a relationship with Christ. Early 2018 two “regulars” asked for help to get out of the homeless alcoholic lifestyle. After discussion and prayer, we decided to bring them home to the farm. Thus God began our residential addiction recovery center. We began ministering to children with disabilities by giving free equine therapy in 2017.

Our Mission

MISSION: To train Warriors for the Kingdom of God who are “MORE than Conquerors” because after conquering their own life-controlling problems, they will return to the battlefield and help save “One More Man”. Romans 8:37 “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”

VISION: To create Hope through healing and forming true disciples of Jesus who will fulfill the Great Commission.

Our Values

WHY: Because giving hope to one person won’t change the world, but it will change the world for that one person.

WHAT: We are striving to disciple people into a close relationship with Jesus Christ, while encouraging them to pay it forward by serving others in His name.

What We Do

HOW: • We give hope for a better future clinging to God as the only way to thrive. • We demonstrate and teach that Jesus is the only solution to be “free indeed”. • We provide support and discipleship to grow in relationship with God. • We point to Jesus to heal hearts struggling with life-controlling issues. • We offer long-term stability in a Christian community with forever homes. • We offer community and close fellowship with our church family, Hope Fellowship. • We provide “belonging” to something bigger than themselves. • We offer a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction in jobs well done. • We provide purpose in developing the vision and reaching out with humility and serving “the least of these” as Jesus commanded us to do.
