Assistant Store Manager

This position is designed to support the efforts of the store manager or general manager in effectively running a CLC Book Center. The primary purpose of the position is to ensure the proper running of the store at all times with team supervision and day to day administration.

*Be prepared to implement all store opening and closing procedures. Will normally have a staggered work schedule requiring the person to function as the store opening or closing manager.
* Must be able to do daily banking procedures as required by the schedule and at the request of
the store manager.
* Will participate in developing the monthly staffing schedule
* Must oversee implementation of all store policies with front-line employees
* Will be required to resolve customer disputes at various times
* Must know Bookstore Manager software sufficiently to be able to answer employee and
customer questions as well as resolve emergency system problems in conjunction with CLC’s IT
department and Bookstore Manager
* Ensure that products are properly merchandised and that the store is kept clean at all times
* Will lead the daily devotional sessions as appropriate (when scheduled to open the store)
* May be involved in buying for specific departments
* Must adhere to OTB guidelines and help ensure that all buyers do the same
* Will help implement marketing initiatives by training front liners and holding the team
accountable for effective customer communication of upcoming sales and promotions.
* May be required to do goods receiving as necessary
* Should be able to do Bible imprinting
* Function as the manager on duty in the absence of the store manager
* Ensure that all employees are aware of CLC’s purpose, goals, objectives and core values by
communicating about these on a regular basis.
* Work with the store manager to maintain profitability and sales growth in the store by
effectively managing both human and financial resources.

Tuesday through Saturday; Business Hours, including opening / closing shift.
